Mama's Favorite Products To Date And A Few I Would Avoid

5 months down and here are some of the products that have made this job just a little easier! This list is not all inclusive, because, mom brain, so I'm sure I'll do more of these as we go along. Please feel free to leave your comments and/or recommendations. This Mama is always up to try new things!

This is not a sponsored post nor an ad and I will not receive any commission should you choose to click any of the included links. Just me trying to be as helpful as possible.

Cloud Island Sleep 'N Play Onesies.
That zip from the bottom up is a game changer for over night diaper changes!!

Clover Baby & Kids Clothing
Ohhhhmahgosshhh if I could live in this clothing I WOULD. The material is so very soft and perfect for baby's skin. Whether you choose their cloveralls, footies, or matching sets you WILL NOT BE disappointed. They also have coordinating outfits for your little pooches.

Sleep Sacks
Your baby will eventually wiggle their way out of those muslin swaddles and when they do, sleep sacks will be your best friends! They come in different sizes as well as different fabrics for the changing temperatures / seasons.

Stay Dry Bibs
There are soooo many bibs on the market and while we are all drawn to the cutsie ones or fashionable ones, one thing all new parents learn quickly is that when it comes down to it, you need a bib that is functional, not fashion forward. Look for tri-layer bibs like the ones I've linked which include a water proof middle layer. Same goes for burp cloths.  You'll thank me later.

Honest Organic All-Purpose Balm
Purchased it for cradle cap, use it for EVERYTHING!

Cetaphil Baby Moisturizing Oil with Organic Calendula, Sweet Almond Oil & Sunflower
Received this in a Cetaphil sample pack and both dad and I fell in love with the scent. Smells AMAZING. Also gets used for everything.

Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment
Aquaphor is to my baby what Vaseline has been to me. My son suffers from eczema so I literally smother him in Aquaphor all day to lock in his skin's moisture.

Side Snap Kimono Onesies
These are a life saver especially if you're nervous or not completely comfortable with changing your itty bitty newborn. You don't have to worry about pulling anything over baby's head or up from baby's feet.

FridaBaby Windi the Gaspasser
This product may seem a little odd but IT WORKS! My son suffered from colic and gas troubles and when his gripe water and Simethicone drops were not enough, it was a tummy rub and Windi to the rescue. Just be aware things may get a little messy so that leads me to my next product...

Disposable Changing Pads
You can throw them in your diaper bag for your days/nights out or put them over your in home changing station when you know you're in for a mess!

Disposable Diaper Bags
I work in a medical facility and am very aware of just how bad diapers begin to smell as they sit in the garbage. I personally think EVERYONE should carry diaper disposal bags in their baby bags. A common courtesy should be to NOT stink up an area where people have to spend full days. I know it's not something anyone would normally think of, I get it, it's the least of a parent's worries but speaking from the other side, we'd really appreciate it! They come in handy at home too if you don't have a diaper pail.

Bulk Boxes of Oral Syringes
Most of the syringes that come with infant liquid supplements, gripe water, gas drops, etc. SUCK. Do yourself a favor and stock up on medical grade oral syringes for accurate dosing and easy dispensing.

Products that I personally would not recommend

Dr. Brown Bottles
There are too many other options on the market now that advertise natural air flow and colic reduction to waste time putting together, taking apart, and washing all the pieces of these bottles - especially in the early weeks when you're barely sleeping as it is. And they leak. And my son still had a bad case of colic.

Babyganics Face, Hand and Baby Fragrance Free Wipes
Based on the name alone, I registered for so many babyganics products thinking they would be top of the line and I was sadly disappointed by the majority of the products we received but the wipes had to be the worst of them all. They are smaller than most baby wipes so you're bound to get some mess on your hand. They did not have much moisture to them leaving us feeling like we were not really cleaning the baby AND they were NOT pop up, making putting them in the wipe warmer useless because you could only pull one at a time. We IMMEDIATELY switched to Pampers Sensitive. I will soon be trying the new Cloud Island diapers and wipes that were recently released, they seem to have good review.

Safety 1st Sleepy Baby Nail Clipper with Light
The positioning of the lights on the sides of the nail clipper make this product way too bulky for its purpose. I have such a hard time cutting my son's finger nails and getting to his toenails is IMPOSSIBLE.

Luck Of The Irish - Word Tracer

Education is and always has been an important part of my life, for (THIRTEEN) years I coined myself a professional student, taking that long (because, life) to complete my undergraduate degree.

My educational journey began early on in preschool at the age of 3 and from day 1 this book worm was hooked. It is because of my early experiences that I was more than happy to pass along the following St. Patrick themed word tracer from www.education.com to kick off the month of March.

"Grab your pencil and have fun practicing your handwriting by tracing these fun St. Patrick's Day words! Check out Education.com for more (language arts activities)!"

While I did receive the word tracer as a promotional PDF, this post was not sponsored.

Mama's Introduction

I am the Mama formerly known as Nicole or Nikki Luv and I am here to share my honest, REAL, sometimes unpopular, opinions and feelings on parenthood, children, and life in general.

I'll be doing product reviews as well.

A little about this Mama:

I joined Blogger in 2010 during an EMO phase but never got around to really posting anything.

I am 32 years of age currently residing in Bronx, NY.

I am a proud Leo born in the year of the Tiger (HELLOOO Strength 💪).

I am ADDICTED to lipgloss (Colourpop is heaven sent, amIright??)

I became a Mama to a beautiful baby boy on Oct. 9, 2018 so I'm fairly new at this parent thing.

My partner and I have been together for 4 years and were best friends for 5 years before that (he escaped the friend zone).

I struggled with Postpartum Depression for the first 3 months post delivery. I am just now coming out the other side 🙌.

I have battled anxiety and situational depression my entire life, exacerbated after my freshman year of college, and I'm not afraid to talk about it!

I am not afraid to show both the good and bad sides of my life.

I am definitely not afraid to admit that neither I nor my child are anywhere near perfect.

I try to handle life with a tinge of humor but I've learned I'm not for everyone, and that's OK!

Looking forward to seeing how this blog develops. If my experiences can make even one person feel like they're not alone or that they're not some monster for not donning rose colored glasses 24/7 then I will have accomplished what I set out to do.
